Utilizing a high amperage (16A) solenoid it easily overcomes any stack pressure to retract the device. After initial retraction, the device is held open by use of a secondary low amperage (.5A) hold open coil. The solenoid is rated for all day continuous duty and can be held open indefinitely through use of a relay timer or any standard access control input.
